The hooks on our plastic post earrings are just that: plastic and therefore won't cause irritation to those with sensitivities to metals. These earrings measure approximately 1.5 inches long from the top of the hook to bottom of the acrylic. The acrylic portion is about a 1 inch circle and clear with chicken pattern printed on it. Due to the nature of the pattern, each piece will vary slightly with different number and types of chickens.
Disclaimer: Our dangle earrings do use metal rings to connect the ear hook to the pendant. This part rarely, if ever, touches the ear, and therefore should not cause irritation.
